Superstudio’s utopian vision of the future was based on the square. They called the black and white grid, created from repeating the square, a “supersurface” on which society could project new ways of building and living. The Quaderna series of furniture produced by Zanotta brings that concept to a smaller, interior scale. The precise three-centimeter square pattern was developed by Abet Print. While the series is still in production by Zanotta today, the console table shown in Different Tendencies is a rare form and scarcely available.
